The integration of the Guest Room Management System with the Interactive TV system has led to the creation of a synergy, in which the customer can not only select the lighting and climate, controls, and room status directly through the TV remote control, but can also set their favourite soundtrack from the same Hard Rock Selection of music available on the TV system.

The VDA solution chosen for the Hotel’s GRMS is Micromaster, the advanced system that uses radio frequency identification technologies (RFID) and Bluetooth mobile devices to manage door access to the rooms and common areas of the Hotel.

When the guest inserts their key card into the slot the room is activated. This in turn notifies the guest services team of the guest’s presence in the room. This solution guarantees high levels of security and flexibility because the hotel personnel are always up to speed on the status of the guest room and can manage activities without interfering in the guest’s stay.

The ‘Do Not Disturb’ and ‘Make Up the Room’ functions are designed to facilitate communication with the customer. The MUR and Service My Room notification allows supervisors to facilitate operations. For example, if a guest needs a towel in their room, the manager can instruct the nearest room attendant at that time.

When the guest leaves the room, the VDA Micromaster System can set air conditioning levels to energy saving mode, and lighting controls to switch on or off at a pre-set time. In addition, it has the possibility to select lighting and climate scenarios to welcome the customer on their return to the guest room.

Once back in the room, the guest can independently control the set-points of the lights and temperature through the Vitrum smart switches, characterized by the refined Italian glass design that guarantees ease of use and guest understanding of controls.
