Hotel In-Room Technology plays a fundamental role in pursuing responsible choices for energy saving and the protection of the environment, whilst at the same time guaranteeing the best hotel guest experience.

With rising awareness of environmental changes and ever growing eco-tourism, the challenge for hotel technology to approach new directions for energy savings, optimising management costs whilst improving profitability is becoming even more necessary and is seen as an integral part of any project development.

With its 3,000 hotels, and 250,000 Smart Rooms, VDA Group moves easily within this evolving context providing guests a truly unique experience, being fully aware of environmental issues and energy consumption, managing a mix of clientele in terms of age group, differing cultural backgrounds, and varying recreational and leisure needs.

VDA Room Management Systems are conceived in order to micro-manage energy consumption, and related features, from a central control system, minimising infrastructure costs, maximising energy savings, comfort, and security.

The room climate and its environment settings are precisely controlled within hotel defined energy consumption models, which can easily be modified on a global or individual room basis, as and when required. This provides the property with complete ability to keep the room temperatures at optimal levels.

Through Micromaster, VDA’s Intelligent Room Management System, the hotel can configure an Intelligent, Dynamic, and Automatized Temperature Level setup, where temperature levels are automatically adjusted dependant on Check IN/OUT status, Guest Presence status, or if it is hotel personnel within the room. It also includes the ability to pre-cool or pre-heat the room when the guests arrival is detected from within the Lifts.

Guests can operate a limited temperature adjustment from the in-room control panels and once the guest customizes the Comfort temperature level, each and every time he or she returns to the room, this custom level is automatically re-established, whilst during the guest is absent from the room, the temperature level is automatically set to an “energy saving” level, as decided by the hotel.

VDA Group can manage any kind of air conditioning system. The Micromaster system has already been installed in hundreds of Hotels with various VRV or VRF Systems to manage precisely both small and big area and guarantee a high comfort level, and a low energy consumption.

Among its ModBus-protocol-based-on products, in its catalog VDA Group has a temperature and humidity combined sensor to manage with the Radiant System. This sensor allows the calculation of the dew point, and activates accordingly the system’s action to avoid condensation and dripping.

VDA Group can also easily manage the Splitter  Systems thanks to an infrared command simulating the remote control’s functions.

Following the recent Covid-19 emergency and in accordance with the need to provide protection of the health of guests and staff, VDA proposes solutions to guarantee the in-room facilities normal operation and the guest safety. In fact, when the guest enters the room, the movement  sensor  will detect his or her presence and thus enable the services. When the guest leaves the room, the motion sensor will note that there is no presence, and the room will return to the energy saving mode.

As an alternative to the volumetric sensor, it is possible to activate the “Presence of the guest” in a pre-defined way, so enabling all the services automatically within the room. This function may remain active until check-out, or be temporarily inhibited by the hotelier where necessary.

Besides the reliability and functionality of our room management system, one of the undisputed values of our system is its high-level personalisation, with exclusive design solutions that combine forms and functions in a highly original way. The technological solutions offered by the VDA’s Room management systems include a range of beautifully designed smart devices from the Vitrum, Axia, Duetto, and Classic collections.

The VDA group has been operating for more than 40 years in the Hotel Room Automation sector, offering specialised solutions throughout the world of hospitality. The fundamental principles that are the basis for the creation of our solutions are their advanced technological platforms, their simplicity of installation, that they are user-friendly, and their versatility to integrate with other third party systems.
